Ngaanyatjarra Turlku UWA Perth International Arts Festival 2007 (DVD)
Ngaanyatjarra Turlku is a multimedia performance presented as part of the UWA Perth International Arts Festival 2007.
Turlku is the traditional song and dance from the Western Desert region of WA. The stories depicted in this performance of Turlku come from five of the Tjukurrpa (laws) of the Ngaanyatjarra region.
The traditional land owners of the area take audiences to the sites in country where these Tjukurrpa originate. Many of these images have not been seen by a general audience before.
Audiences are invited to go on a journey across the Ngaanyatjarra lands to experience how the Tjukurrpa and the Turlku inform Yarnangu (Ngaanyatjarra people) about themselves, their families and their connection to country.
