"Water Snake" by Elizabeth Holland
The painting shows people protecting themselves from a dangerous snake (Wanampi) that created important rockholes for Aboriginnal people. During Dreaming time, the snakes were reputedly very wild, described as "murderous" and ate everything thay came across: men, women, children, dogs, and even wooden arefacts
