Recently, our Shire supported the Outback Way Forum in Canberra.
Our Shire President Damien McLean attended the forum which was full of great takeaways that can be considered for our region.
Over two days the Outback Way Forum saw stakeholders, local communities, government representatives, industry leaders and agencies come together to share thoughts, updates and ideas to help each other overcome the challenges such a large scale initiative might experience.
There were plenty of insightful sessions around infrastructure development, tourism opportunities and environmental sustainability.
The results of the forum will be presented during the Outback Way AGM next month in Boulia, Queensland.
We look forward to continuing our involvement with Outback Way and receiving the Outback Way Action Plan 2024 that was devised as a result of the recent forum.
