The Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku Administration Office will be closed for the Easter break from 4:30pm Thursday 28 March 2024 until 8:30am Tuesday 02 April 2024. Councillors and staff wish everyone a safe and happy Easter.

At it’s Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 28 February 2024, Council approved a strategic organisational restructure aimed at improving service delivery, enhancing efficiency, and better aligning resources with the corporate objectives of the organisation.

The Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku’s Council has approved a draft for consultation Bushfire Brigade Local Law 2023 at its Ordinary Council Meeting on April 27, which will support the recently founded Warburton Bushfire Brigade, the first-ever brigade located in the Shire.

The Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku wishes to advise the community that Council has endorsed the implementation of a Project Steering Committee for the Warburton Concept Plan, a summary of the proposed development works in Warburton. It is now proposed that the Shire, Warburton Community Council, Ngaanyatjarra Council Aboriginal Corporation and other stakeholders work more closely together in the development of a committee to drive the Warburton Concept Plan to fruition.

The Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku’s Council has been advised by the Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Hannagan, on local government reforms that have been introduced by the State Government of Western Australia. As part of the reforms, the Shire may see a reduction in Councillors from 8 to 5, including the President..

The Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku in partnership with the Outback Highway Development Council (OHDC) would like to thank the Australian Government for confirming its commitment to previous budget approvals for the Outback Way sealing project, with no cuts in funding in the upcoming federal budget delivered on October 25

A delegation from the Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku attended the Outback Highway Development Council’s (OHDC) annual general meeting on 31 August in Winton, QLD. The AGM marked the 25th anniversary of the OHDC and was the first held in-person since 2019, with the previous two AGMs hosted online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
